Header?

Anybody have an idea when we'll see a company release headers for our RA? If I'm not mistaken I remember hearing a few months ago that some company planned on releasing some this summer. How about underdrive pulleys, camshafts, etc? Anybody know of any companies out there working on these products for our cars??

Not for awhile, probably. With the exception of kamikaze (search for more info) no other companies have stepped up to make headers or cams or anything like that. Chances are that the Eclipse will help our parts market, but not for awhile.

That's a shame... I'd really love to see a header released for the RalliArt. If not that, atleast some simple pulleys or something like that. I now the guys around here would eat those things up... if only the companies knew this!

Just like otter posted, i also think that until the next Gen Eclipse hit the streets we will not see much for the 2.4 Mivec hopefully by next summer there will be a few Companies with a handful of options for us .

Would a cam help that much on a MIVEC engine??? I can see how it would on a non variable valve.

ive put alot of thought into this over the past few months and ive concluded that i wont buy a header unless it includes a downpipe and its designed well. if you are changing the header, you hopefully change the downpipe at same time as well. so why not make the set to complament each other? and most companys sell the dp+header combo for ~$400. the dp alone from RRM is just shy of $300. for the extra $100, you get the header....duh

Cam gears arent gonna do us a whole lot of good unless we have the appropriate aftermarkt cams to accomodate them.

I'd love to see a company jump up and make a header/downpipe combo for the RA. For around 400 bucks I'd jump all over that!

+1

I don't really understand why so many people are eager to replace our already well-designed tubular header. Is it simply out of habit from the last car you had to mod, or is it because people tell you that you need to get new headers as a first mod to any car? On a car that has a cast-iron header, yeah, you need to replace it. You would normally replace it with a manderel bent tubular header....just like the one we have stock.

Please explain.

Cams do help on vvt motors. vtec hondas have them and they help a lot. The right cam w/ cam gear & a tuned ecu should give some good hp. Mivec Just allows us to get good gas mileage at low rpms.
