Dc sport catback.

I've been to me speedshop and he told me that DC sports make a catback. Is anyone here have that on their Ralliart. He told me that it would make a good 10 hp bump.

I'm not sure if that's true. I've checked on DC sports website and they don't listed. But the guy at the speedshop told me that it fits. Also the model was in his Dc sports catalog from 2005.

If somebody as it on their car, how's the performance. It's pretty expensive so I want to make sure that it's worth it.

It's a single canister catback.

Also he told me that Unorthodox makes some flywheel for the Ralliart. Could I see some gains if I put that. Is it a pain to install?

Let me know guy's.

Thanks.

The guy is full of it, a catback on our cars wont do diddly point poo. And no they do not make a catback for us. From the knowledge of that guy, i wouldnt trust him for crap. Just get a magnaflow muffler and you should be set.

It's strange because in the dc sports catalog it was saying fits Ralliart.

That's what I tought. 12 hp can't be ok.

Also can you tell me if somebody knows the model of the exhaust that RRM use for their axleback. I know it's Magnaflow but is it the Magnaflow 14829 like someone said on another post.

And what is an axleback. Is it only the exhaust or the complete line that goes from the cat throught the exhaust.

The whole assembly is called the exhaust system... The exhaust system disconnects after the catalytic converter... from here back it the cat-back... The exhaust disconnects once again at the rear wheels... this is the axle-back...

So basically it's just a Magnaflow muffler. So it's not a complete line but instead only the muffler and a piping that connects to the rest of the piping system.

Am I right?

1) the US lancers exhaust is routed the same way as the RA exhaust. i know because ive held the us exhaust piping to the bottom of my car at the exhaust shop. infact, my exhaust was made from the US lancer bend template. however, a bolt-on catback may need a new flange or made to be shorter. i'm not sure tho. if DC has the kit for the ES/OZ, i most likely will fit the RA, or they will make it so before shipping. if there is any change its minor.

2) the catback does have gains in top end power. it could accelerate about 1 second quicker from 60-100 /w my catback than with stock. saying it wont do jack is kinda wrong since I have dynos posted on this forum showing the results. my timeslips from before/after also show about a 1/4 second inprovement on the quarter mile. an axleback, however, wont do jack. our pk tq to power range with stock exhaust is something like 3500 - 5600rpm. with a 2.5" catback and straight-through muffler, its more like 3500-6000rpm. thats more acceleration and less shifting and amplifys any other power mods by extending the range

3) the catback will not do much for peak power/tq. you loose about 1hp and gain about 3-5tq. saying it will give u 10hp is bogus. maybe on the ES/OZ....not for the RA. but its still worth the top end gains in my opinion.

4) yes, unorthadox does make a flywheel and i suggest you look into it. ive been wanting to get it myself. RRM also makes one, but personally i would perfer the flywheel with more advance technology from the guys who make flywheels for a living. RRM does good stuff, but i dunno much about their wheel.
