Which Is Faster
A turbo ralliart (RRM Stg1) has no problem taking a stock evo from a roll. Mitsubishimanny has taken evos from a roll and had no problems. I witness him (with my own eyes)
The evo owner he ran is a member here
... he can vouch for how fast a turbo ralliart is.

Hell ya dude I had to replace then on mu ninth race on the streets. But now I have Toyos they are great. Ya he added that tires are evil and need to be punished!

dont forget the puerto rican turob RA running low 11's. silly fwd 4door 4cyl jap cars
but an equally worked evo will walk the RA any day of the week in a 1/4 or autox. however, equally worked still means the evo has about an extra $15,000 added just in base price. let the RA dump that difference into itself, and it will be on top from the start.
in short, it all depends on what u want to do. u want a nice pretty package outa the box that doesnt need much to be good all around? get the evo. u wana have something unique but is limited by fwd, but still defines what fwd can really do? get an RA and a good tool set
cause u'll have ur work cut out for u, but its the best platform to start with

Don't forget how much the insurance is on the evo, because it is already turbo to start out with. The ralliart is almost as cheap as insurance gets, and if you turbo it yourself, the insurance doesn't know..
If you turbo'd the RA, you would probably be able to keep up with a stock evo, or beat it if you really put more money into the RA. The turbo kit should give you a sufficient amount of power, so I say go for it. Don't forget though, the evo 4g63 is built really well for power upgrades, ecu flashes, etc.. and it is far superior stock vs. stock for a ralliart. You can put all the money you want into the ralliart, and someone with an evo will put just as much money as you, and they will still be able to kill you in a race, autox, etc.. There are always bigger fish out there. Turbo the RA, keep it for a few years, and sell it to buy a better, faster car which you are looking for. But you never know. Your interests might change in a few years and you might want a car like a Saab or something.. lol. (saab's are pretty cool though.

A RA boosted to 8psi has been proven to be able to walk an Evo from a roll. However, Evo will also launch better, obviously.
The heads on the 4g69 flow an ungodly amount of air, too (RRM can vouch for this)

the question at hand is which is faster... I saw a british TV show that tested the MR... I know this is just a stock Evo 8 but this is what I saw... they said it's the best car they have driven... they matched it up against a murcielago and the evo won on an auto-x track... it's cool that an turbo RA can beat an evo in a straight line... i truly respect mitsumanny and his car... but the evo is a cornering machine... that's what it is built for... it's not a drag car... so put a turbo RA on a track with an evo and see which one understeers...

ralliart turbos are nice, but with minimal mods the evo can easily put down more than 300+ at all 4 wheels. I had a ralliart before my evo. There is only so much that a fwd can do. off a roll, though, vs. a stock 04 evo, there';s a chance, comes down to the driver. EVOs will always win off the launch though
