Question Which Is Faster

I was sitting in my recliner wondering what car I should buy next when I asked myself, If you add a turbo to a lancer Ralliart w/it's Mivec Engine would it beat a lancer Evolution?

FF wouldnt be a problem on the freeway, I was reading about a turboed lancer in one magazine or another that had 300fwhp that would probably ruin an evo, the lancer in the mag had a full evo 8 front, looked really goodimsuprised more of youguys dont do it. IMHO I think a boosted 300 hp lancer is a completly different but equally as viciuos monster as the evo viii.

Yes but through the twist and turns of the country roads the Evo can go to the throttle in the turn. The FF have to slow down until th exit to accelarate.

Even if by some small chance you could boost a RA enough to beat on stock Evo on a highway pull...all he has to get the ECU flashed and you'll be back to getting your *** handed to you again.

And Drifting woulnt help just uses your tires. I saying with a turbo and new handiling upgrades would a Ralliart be able to beat a Evo on a strait and turns?

You should know by now that the Evo is going to be faster. The Evo 8 engine is designed to handled a whole lot of power, the heads on the Evo flow ungods amount of air, the cylinder wall, pistons vavles and the entire block is made for big power, the compresion ratio is great, it has a high compresion ratio so that it can rev fast.

Putting a turbokit in a Ralliart maybe will get you a second quicker and maybe 5-10 MPH faster trap speed. It is not worth at all.

This topic has been addresed on DSM forums with the Eclipses non turbo adding Turbokits vs the factory fitted Eclipse Turbos. The same thing happens with the Dodge Neons.

It will be a waste of money and time to put a Turbo on the Ralliart, then you will have a car that to keep up with the EVO 8 needs , HID lights, Enkei 17x8 Rims with 245', Recaro seat, Brembo brakes, second to none Suspension and a much better retail value.

Don't waste it, save money and get the Evo. I bet money on your friends EVO.

7 years ago I use to have a Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo, I bought it with both turbos fuc$ up. Someone at work told me:

well, even though your turbos are not working you still have 220HP(power of the non turbo DOHC).

That does not work like that, a Stealth R/T TT with ceadsed turbos runs much slower than the non turbo version with no turbos at all

my friend has a 2002 civic si . he has a turbo kit and can run 15psi. on a 12psi he runs 13.0 flat . his trap speed was 109mph! the si has 160 hp stock and the ralliart 162 stock. i think the ralliart would run low 13 maybe high 12 with the stage one . and when your friend with the evo gets a reflash just get the stage two turbo kit and race him again and my friend with the si raced last night and he beat a stock sti at topend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to hate but the Civic also weighs in ALOT less than a Ralliart! You can strip the interior and throw as much CF on as you can afford but it will still weigh more than a civic. It's the only thing going for the Honda crowd is low weight= better power to weight ratio. Although it would be funny to see a RA without any doors, trunk, fenders, or hood running around...
