My dealership said it was an 8 hr job for just the throw-out bearing replacement... which takes less work than the lsd and clutch... but they are idiots so sorry for this useless info...

Are you sure? I messaged Rock from RRM and he said it was a Kaaz. If it's clutch-based it's Kaaz. I'm hoping it's you that would get it wrong and not RRM, that would make me wonder...

Replacing the throw-out bearing is practically a clutch job in itself. All the labor time is in dropping and replacing the tranny. It really shouldn't add that much time to change out the LSD as well as the clutch.

I purchased mine awhile ago from RRM. It says quaife right on it. Mine isn't the one on the internet, and I paid alot more than the listed price for it. RRM had both available at the time, but I didn't want the chatter of the clutch type, so I got the torque sensing one. Here's a pic, sorry about the glare.

Damn, rock told me that it wasn't available...at any price. I hear Kaaz is really good, but the key is to break it in properly. But I would also prefer a Quaife just to eliminate that extra clutch system that could go ****ty.

I hope mine is the right one, for the right application. I havn't had it installed yet, i've been looking around for someone that has experience installing them first. Guess i should have researched that first. I'll probably be doing my install(clutch, flywheel, LSD) in the spring through the dealership as they said they would and their price quote is about the same as another place, which i feel is high, but i'm sure it will be less once they do the job.

a shop quoted me 1400, the dealership quoted me 1500. These are by the book values though.

to tell u the truth i dont remember about the clutch and flywheel. i went to a shop and i THINK they charged 200 or 300 for both clutch and flywheel at once. not sure if it was 200 or 300....

than i did the LSD with alot of other stuff, like control arm, axle, and rebuff my rim... that all cost 500 altogether from a friend... there is ALOT of work installing the LSD. splitting the tranny in half and putting the LSD in... its hard.

I was gonna get the LSD, then I realised id be able to do an AWD conversion, and managed to get the transfer, propshaft and rear diff for the price of the LSD alone. So I've gone that route.

Doubt it will be better, just different.

man it just sucks , I haven't gone to any shops around yet but I'm guessing that its going to cost the price of the lsd to get it installed....which makes me lean away from it but I'm sure it's something to have for the turbo ra.....wheres my prozac....jk
