Clutch and LSD install

I'm interested in buying both the Works stgII clutch kit and the RRM LSD. Does anyone have an approximation as to the number of hours needed for installation?

I was quoted about 15 hours for both at $82/hour CAD from a dealer here that has done one LSD before.

Does that sound resonable?

Thanks!

No. They're quoting what the book says for each job separately, added together. Most of the labor involved in the LSD install is removing/replacing the tranny in the car. If you do that while changing the clutch, it's already done.

I've seen nothing that would keep both of those combined from being a 6 hour job, max.

Our tranny doesn't look like it'd be very hard to pull, and once you get the tranny out, installing the LSD is pretty quick. I had a FWD DSM tranny (not quite the same, but very similar) apart a couple weekends ago, changing the 3-4 shift fork. Disassembling two busted trannies, and then reassembling one working one took less than 3 hours.

A simple clutch change can be done in less than two hours.

13 hours? They must have had to melt down some paper clips to make the spacers they needed, or something.

Well... you better get it done, or you'll have to take the "lsd" out of your name!

I would imagine that your car would stick to the road way better around corners. But it depends what your using your car for. Will I be getting a LSD? No. My car doesn't do auto-x or anything though

If you do a lot of tight, high-speed cornering, or drag race, then yeah, it's worth it. I would love to have one, but the price tag is way too steep for me.

its the ultimate traction mod. Don't forget about winter traction also. But, with LSD when you smash the gas in a corner the front end pushes out, but you have TRACTION
