Here goes.

A buddy of mine has a 2g eclipse(turboed) and he is unhappy with the transmission and wants to upgrade. He came to me asking if the Lancer Ralliart 5 speed will fit in his 2g and if he can add FWD LSD to it.

This is way above me, and I've never heard of anyone swapping trannys from a Ralliart to an Elipse.

If anyone has or can direct me in the right direction, it would be great.

Assuming his car is a 4G63 FWD, then it will fit. If it is the AWD, there will be some issues, and if he has the 420A POS, dont even try it.

Dont know why he would want to do that, when he can get another DSM tranny for less, tho.

 

The transmision in the 2g is in the "other" side in the engine comparment so I think it will not fit.

 

D-uh cant believe I overlooked that.

 

yea, won't fit. it rotates the wrong way. lol. tell him to get another dsm tranny and put galant vr-4 gears in it!!!!!!!! they are better geared anyway!!!!!!!
