Just came in from high speed testing on US75. All I have to say is OMG !!!! I can't believe it !! I have new found respect for the 4G69 MIVEC !! I was cruising along the highway at about 60 mph and I came to a clear straight stretch, so I thought why not? I nailed the throttle and my car accelerated strongly all the way up to a little past 120 mph when I came upon a group of cars bunched together and had to let off & apply the brakes. But before I let off, the car was STILL pulling strongly and I'm certain it would have hit at least 130 mph no problem ! It was awesome ! Here's a N/A SOHC 4 cylinder runnin' like a bat out of Hell !! I now feel confident enough to race V6's and alot of V8's esp on the freeway. Wild !! I now can state that that my P&P's forte is top end power. I'll try this w/e to get some G-Tech readings for all.

Sounds like a few people are gonna be doing this mod. Good luck to all. Got any questions, just ask. I guess I have to say now that I'm satisfied with the improvement thru P&P. And guess what was on my doorstep when I got home? My fuel line cooler & rolls of thermo wrap tape. My work is never done!! )

You arent too far from Tampa. Take it over to XAT Racing or something and run on their rolling road and see what you got.

Couldn't do G-Tech testing yesterday, was doing more work to the car. Installed engine damper, more cold air ducting & thermowrapping. Also need -AN 6 fittings for my new fuel cooler. Will get numbers as soon as possible. Patience!

This place is pretty much a nissan-specialist.

Why should any RA worry about V6's as long as their motor doesn't crank over 200 HP? Unless, you have met tons of Buicks and their SC'ed land yachts.

It takes a lot more to compete against V8, except for the 302 motors from Ford and possibily pre-99 'stang GT (detuned, under HP'ed motor of the modern GT before customer's complaints).

Thanks for the info on XAT, bahamut. Very interesting, I might have to check it out next time I'm down in Tampa. There are some pretty tough V6's out there, like the modded VR6's and even the new Poncho V6's. I can't tell you how many different kinds of V8's try and taunt me & my little 4. But I've already run with a few V8's, but not the likes of Corvettes, Camaros, Mustang GT's, etc. They're a little out of my N/A 4 banger's league!

Like I said, when I had to let off the throttle it was about 125mph and STILL pulling strongly & I'm sure it is capable of more. But the speedometer only goes to 130. You must have one heck of a lucky made car cause I've never seen or heard of a stock Ralliart tested that can reach 140mph. And what are your tires speedrated at? And I realize G-Tech readings aren't all that accurate but that's not what I bought it for. I can measure changes from my baseline with different mods. And let's look at your "accurate" dyno: does it take into account your car's drag? Isn't the car stationary? What about ram air effects? Again the car's not moving. Then there's the all important driver skill. Many factors affect the outcome of a real street race. The dyno is only one tool, use it as such.

C'mon! Your car has a 2.4 MIVEC which pushes an average 150-160whp...what were your initial expectations with such a nice engine...110 mph? A stock Ralliart should be able to get to 140mph at the speedo...no problem.

Anyways, if being able to hit 130 mph makes u feel confident about racing V6s or V8s, go for it! (as long as they're Town Cars or Crown Vics of course)
