Haltech Interceptor Piggyback ECU
I have been talking to some people at haltech and they said the interceptor model will work with our RA's. If you know about the Haltech ECU's they way it works is you tune it according to bar graphs instead of inputing in numbers. Let me know what you think.
uh, did you see rock's thread about it still coming with the baseline map and then you can tune off of that? sounds like a pretty good deal. and you can tune for Forced Induction now. i'll take my chances with RRM.
I still think the Haltech will be a lot better than RRM's because you can tune it for turbo as well, as we speak the interceptor has worked on the Evo8 so far. I think Haltechs piggyback will be easier and faster to tune vs. RRM's if and I say if RRM's software allows you to tune by bar graph instead of inputing numbers. If you don't know the knowledge and numbers to input and remap your ecu your in for a headache. But thanks for posting your thoughts and keep them coming....
I agree the Haltech will be a very good addition for anyone who has more than the basic mods and most tuning places will have the tools/programs readily available to be able to tune it. Sure the RRM one is a simple put the numbers/values in but if you don't have the experience to do it then the money will still have to be spent on someone to be able to tune it and the other advantage with the Haltech is that if you decide to sell your car you can remove the Haltech and transplant it into your new car
But all the same the RRM one will be a good alternative for those who want mild mods and really simple plug and plays so yah to RRM for spending the time money and effort for developing another new product, it is always good that people are doing these things for the cars because some people will only buy a new car if there are enough mods around so that they can change them

Ok, first off I'll believe it when I see it. Supposedly E-manage works/worked whatever. When it works, then it'll be a real option. I think it's great that more stuff is coming out for our car, I just have gotten my hopes up too many times about stuff that just doesn't materialize.
In theory, as RRM's pggy is now tunable, you can set it up for turbo could you not? If of course you went F/I down the road.
For what its worth, I don't think that means through which to configure a device (bar graphs etc) determines anything at all about what sort of performance we can/should expect. In theory, as they perform the same function so long as this actually works, there's really only one thing thats going to determine (to me anyway) which is best: cost.

I looked at the RRM website recently and it looks like you have to input values. If I see it correctly on their website and correct me if im wrong but it shows inputting in numbers and values. The haltech all you do is manipulate the bar graphs similar to tuning the SAFC ll. Oh and for all of you RA owners keep on the lookout for precision dyno in a couple of months, I called their shop and they should be able to do reflashing for the RA in a couple of months...just fyi for us RA owners...
The haltech unit is a very good unit although I woudl personally not say its 100% suitable for turbocharging as it has limited fuel adjustment capabilities if you start using larger injectors that are more than say 40% larger than stock. This is why we are using the greddy emanage as the better option with its unlimited injector calibration function.
But so saying that we will be working on both the haltech and the greddy at the same time as most n/a guy's will find the haltech will also do a fantastic job.
We will also be working on our haltech E6X plug and play unit at the same time to provide a whole range of options for everyone so there will be a lot of choices as to which is suitable.
If people are after haltech stuff - don't forget to try us as we can do some very nice deal on haltech stuff.

i've used the haltech in the past... actually not that easy to tune and seemed like i was chasing my tale with it more than making good improvements. The injector deal is a definate fact. I've experienced that myself. The other difficult thing is the bar graph setup isn't quite linear as it should be. Seems at times some adjustments are more than others. Even more than that when in boost it seems to get real whacky.
You'd have to experience it but for the 2.0L lancer guys i'd say stick with the Emanage. For the ralliart guys just go with the RRM piggy. Those are my thoughts anyways...
