How can I use the RRM axleback exhaust with the new header and downpipe combo and what is the difference between this and the complete system with catback instead? is it just a piping size difference or what?

The header/downpipe connects at the front of the car. Your AB exhaust connects at the rear. That will not be changed with these new parts.

You've got to remember there's 4 components in the stock exhaust...

1) header
2) downpipe and cat
3) mid pipe
4) axle back

RRM's longtube header will replace the first two with the option of no cat or High flow cat.

The Catback will replace the last two...

If you get just the axle back then the stock mid pipe will still be utilized.

Even though they are using bigger piping the flanges are designed to mate up with stock flanges. Thus the stock mid pipe will mate to the long tube header... the RRM axlback with mount to the midpipe... and if you go all out with the catback it will mate up with the longtube header perfectly.

Hope this clears things up... i can see where you get confused not knowing all the exhaust parts but this should help.

I guess what else is confusing is that some 04's have certain parts, and others have different, and then apparently 05 an 06 are a bit different too. From what i've gathered is that some have a cat that is a bolt in, separate from the downpipe, and some have downpipe/cat all in one. Would this statement be correct?

It is confusing. I think I need to do a diagram with all the variations out there. More work for me.

The only variant i've seen is on the header flange. The header flange changed between certain production dates. However all the cat's i've seen have been welded in. Could be wrong though.
