ROAD/RACE- RA guys ready for a CATBACK

How many of you guys want catbacks for the RA? We will have them soon. Until we get things up to speed they will be special order. Figure $459 will be the price. Stay tuned for more details.

i could be wrong but i remember you saying that cat backs were kinda pointless seeing how the stock midpipe is fine, you said all we would need is the axle back and the downpipe, now i would think for $459 that would include a hi-flow cat at least.

For some price comparison for you all...
(Stainless 2.5 w/ res without muffler)
UR Cat-back - 400
VRS Cat-back - 410

These are the quotes I got, didn't want the mufflers they were putting on them

Any pics of the setup yet? How about some details on it? Type of piping, diameter, type of muffler.....oh yeah, and numbers.

Look forward to the numbers.

Wow. First off . CATBACK means catback exhaust system, not a cat converter. Includes all piping, muffler and tip. Bungs for o2s etc. That price for full catback is dam good. As for catback being a waste, it is not going to make a night and day difference in my opinion but the setup is a little smoother. expect a little bit gains over axelback but not much!

since i think 2.25 is perfect for my or any N/A application. unless you can show that HP gains out weigh the TQ loss then yeah sure put it a 2.5

2.25. Stock is about 2 1/8 so it is slightly bigger. We are fine with it for N/A or turbo guys. We are using Magnaflow Stainless mufflers, dual wall tips and resonator. Everything will be bolt up even the bung for o2. SWEET!

Ohh please don't get me wrong I was just asking as to why it would be worth doing it with having a similar size pipe compared to stock that was all... I am just going from my experiences when I had the 1.8lt we had a 2.25" and that got us very nice gains and now with the Mivec we have put the 2 1/2" on an got a 5hp increase plus an increase in torque all the way thru torque was only 2nm (metric) at the end of the day you have to make up your own mind and be realistic as to what mods that you want to add onto your car, and once you have a plan of what mods it makes it easier to and cheaper to mod
