2006 Ralliart engine
Hey guys I am new to the Ralliart and would like to know how many KM it takes to break in these engines? I know I saw it in a post somewhere but I just can't find it now. Unfortunately our dealership up here is Winnipeg are a bunch of retards o there not much help to me. Well thank you to anyone out there that responds to this I know it been asked before.

I don't know the total milage but what I did was at 1000 miles I changed the oil and filter. If you plan to run synthetic oil I would wait until three thousand. Go with dyno oil at this change. between 1-3k I progressively drove the car harder to make sure it was well broken in. I know the dealer claims there is no break in period or they claimed they are broken in at the factory, I don't buy it. You can't replicate real world conditions in a factory. Since you canandian and have better public schools I will let you do the english to metric conversion.

Hey guys, I could be totally wrong, but I think that with any type of motor (i.e electrical or gasoline) there should be standard full-load and no-load tests performed on it before it leaves the factory. These tests would take the motor to it's limits for a certain amount of time in order to pass inspections.
However, I've also heard that for the break in period you should drive it like you stole it. This would ensure that if something fails it fails quicker (during warranty) and also that you'll get everything to sit and fit properly for your engine and tranny.
Now, I could be totally wrong but it's just my $0.02.

My breaking in was just not using cruise for about the first 1500 kms (because I've always heard that to break it in you should vary the rpms, not keep constant for a long time, but who really knows)...other then that I drove it pretty normally, usually driving casually, but sometimes I just like to hear the plinker of the mivec...
That's one thing I have noticed, when I first got the car could hear lots of plinkering from the engine, but it went away aroundthe whole 1500km mark, that's why I figure about then is when it was all broken in, now I only notice it when the mivec kicks in, which in turn makes me want to drive it even harder at that point

so now I ask the people who know what they are talking about
