Alright well if that's said.. but won't the metal clamps cause the metal piping itself to compress which would make it harder to remove and reinstall?

^^^ +1.

and don't bother modifying it, nothing against you're friend but you'll be more likely to have problems later on with the exhaust that way. Seems like alot of people are backing this set up. I'd just go with it.

A clamp as they provided should not bend the pipe when you remove it. It only makes sure one side won't fall out from the other. Now the c clamps that you can get at your parts store will bend the metal but not the band clamps they provided.

Also you should have no real need to remove the exhaust anyways so it sounds like your making a mess out of nothing. Go install it already!

I would.. but i have to strip all my aftermarket parts out of my car... My throwout bearing is going awol and there's a crazy clicking sound coming from my tranny so i'm due to go back to the dealer. And since its transmission problems this time i'ma play it safe and just return the car to stock. Although after all this ish is done i will have everything installed..

Its becoming quite discouraging to see so many post contain the words TRANNY PROBLEMS, ive seen a few other threads where this was said and im starting to wonder if i should be nervous.

Good luck with the dealer though....let us know how it goes.

If your dealer turns down your tranny issue because you have a CB exhaust you need to go to a new dealer!

The downpipe is actually only 2" diameter, i measured it myself, then i had an exhaust shop confirm this, if I hadnt bought it used I wouldve sent it back because the website claimed 2.25" diameter.

EDIT: im referring to the original DP not the new header/downpipe combo.

Ya, I measured the opening, which was slightly under 2". Not sure where the exhaust shop measured it but they confirmed it was 2"

The only reason I checked is because I was having the high-flow cat installed, i bet no one else even checks, just get a new toy and bolt it on.

We switched to 2 inch on that at one point to regain some torque back. IT worked. Gotta fix the website except that item is now discontinued.

Yea i wonder if since the plates are rubbing and wearing my clutch if i'll get a new one.. Also if they'd let me pay the difference to get a performance one installed that wouldn't be covered by the warranty either way since its a wear/tear item...

I have one, it's 2 inches as well. the high flow cat from RRMs website was a slight problem since it's 2.25" but thats what I get for buying a used downpipe. RRM didnt know which version I had. They were, however, very helpful when I called and asked for help with the cat.

I haven't heard of any auto tranny problems so you and I should be ok. That's another reason I am glad that I went with and auto tranny. I had problems with my tranny in my last car so I went with an auto this time around.
