I dont belive this to be true. All you should have to do is replace the muffler and the cat to get the air out quicker. Any one else chime in on this???

well having the header/downpipe i have found that you should upgrade to a cat back because the stock muffler will rattle and sound like butt

Prolly want to add another resonator if it is too loud for you but remember you are without a cat so.... expect some a bit more noise to go with the added power. You can't have it all!

I have the stock header, RRM downpipe, Magnaflow High Flow CAT from RRM and the stock muffler. I will be upgrading my stock muffler next since there is obviously too much flow for it to handle. I believe it is restricting my horsepower a good deal now with my intake and exhaust mods combined. It rattles very loudly at certain RPM ranges and even moreso when it is cold (first 5 minutes running.) I am gonna get a cheapy straight flow-through off of E-bay to see how much of a difference it makes before I get a good magnaflow or other name brand. If it doesn't make much difference, but sounds better, I will keep it. If it makes a good deal more power I will keep it and upgrade to something more permanent. I can't see sinking money into a part that is for sound only, but I have a feeling I will be impressed with the difference in HP and driveability.

Summation- If you upgrade any part of your exhaust system, you will have a rattling stock muffler, or will have bought an aftermarket muffler.

Personally i suggest buying a magnaflow right away instead of buying an ebay one.. it'll save you money in the long run and magnaflows have been known to be pretty good as far as N/A performance goes, erg from what i hear at least... I think i saw a nice magnaflow with a dual wall tip for like 150-200 or something like that i forget its been a while since i looked...

bought it a few minutes ago. Money is an issue right now, and I can't stand the sound of the stock muffler anymore. Like I said. If it's a big difference I wil switch one day(probably when it starts to rust out,) and if it's not, I didn't waste $150(minimum.) Either way I don't feel I am wasting money, just experimenting.

Haha sounds good. I just read your other post, i didn't realize how cheap the pricing was on the muffler you were getting, i tought it'd be something more expensive but my b. Good luck with the experimenting, definitely toss some pictures up.

Well, got my RRM catback installed on the weekend. It really is great. Fitment is perfect and the product is great quality. It isn't loud at all, and has a great deep sound. Performance wise, it seems to smoothen out the tourque band a bit and lets the engine rev efortlessly. The reason I got it is b/c I'm going turbo and my old exhaust was way too loud. Anyways, great product!!! If you need an exhaust get this one. Check out some pics....

Looks nice, what other mods do you have? I would like to hear the catback on a ralliart without a the header too.

- Underdrive pully
- Injen CAI
- Short shifter and underhood brass bushings
- RRM SS Cluch line
- RRM Motor mounts (A MUST HAVE)
- SOON RRM Turbo, I've had a deposit forever and I'm going to finish my payment this week. I heard they got kits coming in next week or so.
