I've never had it dyno'd I may be getting it done on Friday.

I have the RRM intake manifold, the header and downpipe, magnaflow CC, catback flowmaster exhaust and an underdrive pulley.

you know what I hate about ebay is that every now and then someone tries to sell something and comparing it to another brand like RPW like the one shown giving the impression that you are buying a RPW manifold - I can tell you right now that looks nothing like what is on my car...

with the choice of engine swap or turbo I know which one I would go with as to which is going to give you the best bang for bucks... a engine converssion even a turboed engine is going to cost about $10k because you still have to do something for engine management and that usually means grafting in a stock unit from the donor (very labour intesive) or if you go the 4G63 then you still need to do something for ECU then you have the added problems connecting up to the gearbox or the driveline (which ever way you go )

personally I think you face a choice of either spending that hard earned money on bolting a $10k turbo kit to the car or buy another car that suits your needs

I'm just about to head off to my mechanic to see what his advice is...I don't think I'll have to spend anywhere near 10 grand on this.

Sorry I never got to really ask the reason why you want to swap out the engine- the MIVEC has a 2.4lt cubic engine with very tough internals apart from pistons - the compression is also very good for turboing...... I personally think you should work with what you have got - you know the engine and how well it has been maintained compared to the donor...

well good luck keep us informed as to what you get

I originally thought my engine swap would cost very little, take very little time - it took a year and a half and $20,000.

I then thought getting the engine in and working would take 2 days - I started oct 23rd and worked most days since then - and it still aint done.

Not to mention all the "will most likely be ok but wasnt" things.
I think theres no point going through the hassle of changin an engine which would cost a fortune for a mechanic to do.

Mine cost $22,000 with FREE labor. I estimate 25 full days of labor so far - Id hate to think how much that would have cost!

And heres the worrying thing about it - I swapped in a 4G69! It was meant for the car and has been this much trouble. I have loads of money and loads of time - but lucky as I am in those respects its still been a massive job.

IF i had swapped in a 4g63 i would be looking at twice the price and loads of custom stuff - for example theres no way the 4G69 tranny will fit the 4G63 clutch housing as starters are on opposite sides.

Anyhow - go for it if youve got the money, the time and the ability to research.
