RRM Header
Hey Robyn, have you had any issues with that muffler rattling? Ive got the Aero Turbine 2540i as well and it rattles like crazy if I'm above 2500RPM It's driving me crazy! I'm about to have it chopped off to put something else on.
Probably isn't the muffler causing the rattle. I had my exhaust custom done by an exhaust shop and one of the rubber hangers they used on it stretched out a little and my exhaust started doing the same thing(vibrating against rear sway bar). That would be worth checking out before buying a new muffler and everything.
ya know what i have a noise sounds almost likea raspyness rattle coming from the front of my car thinkin maybe one of the flanges isn't ight enuf, i;m gunna put the car up on a lift tomrrow and see if i can find the noise but i luv the aero muffler
the muffler actually moves? just have it mounted better the shop i went to is solid the exhaust barely moves
sorry to inadvertantly move the thread off topic but where would one see the gains from the header?, or know if their exhaust is hindering or helping them?

I took a good look under the car today, and the exhaust isnt hitting anything. I'm almost positive it's the muffler though. I think there's something loose inside of it. Not sure what though... With the car off, if I hit the muffler with the palm of my hand I can hear something rattle around a bit in there. I guess something got inside of there before it was welded on. Argh...
And to answer about the gains with the header: From what I remember, and from how it feels with the header installed, you lose some torque down low, but gain HP in the top end.

The dynos done for the header show mid and high end gains for sure. IF you have too large of and exhaust liek a 2.5 inch that will not get you the most out of the header. Always want to stay with 2.25 inch MAX.

whys that? the 1/4 inch actually makes that much of a difference even with a high flowe cat and resonator?
because of the back pressure it creates for the engine.
smaller diameter means more pressure is required to move gas through it at a constant speed.
once you go too big tho, unless the pressure is increased (like with a turbo lol), the speed the exhaust flows through and proportionately the amount of resistance or back pressure it gives thus decreases, forcing the engine not to operate as efficiently as it can, and power is lost.
