The Ralliart is throttle by wire. Airplanes are fly by wire. Throttle by wire means that the throttle is electronically controlled and the gas pedal is not directly connected to it. Our gas pedal connects to a throttle controller up by the passenger side headlight. That throttle controller sends signals to the ECU, which in turn sends signals to the servos in our throttle body. There are some benefits to this. First off, if something goes wrong, the ECU has the power to close the throttle body despite what your foot is doing. It can also control the throttle body to raise or lower the idle. Finally, it makes for a super smooth cruise control, probably the best one I've driven.
