Getting Piggyback (tuning question)
I spoke with Rob on the telephone yesterday about the base map. It seems there have been 3 or 4 different maps since the split second controller was introduced for our car. There is no way to tell which map I had on my piggyback. Regardless of the map, this just goes to reinforce the fact that if you bought the piggyback and continue to add mods to your car you better get a wideband and tune, or at least go to a shop and have it tuned. This car GULPS AIR, I am not sure if I can stress this enough.
There is absolutely no company that can predict definitively how a fuel map will act with a certain set of mods unless that company has tuned a map for that certain set of mods themselves. RRM does not have a NA RA anymore. They turboed their vehicle after the piggyback was introduced and therefor only get to play with it NA when a customer comes in and asks them to.
If anyone thinks that you don't need to tune a fuel controller, then you don't need to buy one. It's that simple. Look at the piggyback base map as a mail in flash for an intake and axleback. You would do another mail in flash if you bought a header right? So why would you leave the tune the same in the piggyback?
I told Rob I would work with them a little bit on the map I have, especially after I get the rest of my datalogging equipment. I emailed the preliminary graphs last night, maybe with this new information they can give us some more goodies that they didn't think were useful before! If I'm not mistaken that's how we got the Header and d/p combo developed
Even though they said no more parts I find it hard to believe that they will leave the car parked out back and not mess with it anymore, especially with new NA information.
In any case, maybe we will have a new set of maps to choose from on here, if more people would post up their maps and mods we could all be super fast!!!! SO POST UP IN THE PIGGYBACK MAPS FORUM!!!!!
