not all dynos will read the same that more than likely why there was a difference. also weather and elevation will have an effect as well. As for why he dyno'd in 3rd gear is because that is where your power band is kicking in and full out. for a 5speed you do a 3rd gear pull and for 6 speed a 4th gear pull.
