What was the first thing that let go the rod? or the piston? I just want to see what is the achiles heel of the engine.

well RRM thinks the weak link is the piston, but my mechanic said the rods r paper thin. The rod bent up like a pretzel (gotta picture of it in the link in my signatur) and the piston cracked in half. Half of the piston is still in one peice, the other half was in like 20 different pieces. So since the Rod was still intact (altho really badly bent) and the piston shattered, i guess the weakest link is the piston. But rods are gonna need to be replaced too for higher boost.

Thunder rush what turbo set up are you useing? got any pics? to lazy to search when u can just simply send a link lol

I believe the weakest part are both the piston and the rod because if the piston fails because of heat it will shut the engine off and damage the bore and also the rod so either way if you are going for serious power upgrade them both cause in the end you will save cash. It will be bad if you get new forged pistons and then because of OEM pins craking or loosing you will damage the OEM rods and your forged pistons not to mention the seals are very important. SO UPGRADE the pistons seals and rods

yea if your gonna do something, do it all, be smart. save labor, and if your gonna bulletproof something, why not bulletproof everything? RRM needs some rods!!

If the turbo kit doesn't work out for us do you think you might be interested in obtaining an intake manifold for me for cheap??? It seams you have easier access to broken down RA's than we do up here

The cheapes rods I found are the Crower rods there 180 per Rod. LSD When I get my Ross Pistons that will be in 8 weeks. If my block is damage, I'm still will be interested in yours. How yours, did the piston & Rod Damage yours? The Piston I got are 1mm bigger.
