RRM Axleback Fit

I just finished installing the RRM axleback. I would describe the fit as poor at best. The pipe from the flange to the muffler hits the sway bar bracket, and the tip is not even close to being centered in the cut out and is hitting the bumper. I'm pretty unhappy with the quality of this product. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

If it's a bit off center then just bend one of the brackets a bit. I got mine a couple years ago, and it used to bounce off the sway bar. I installed polyurethane hangers and hasn't happened since.

Pretty much ANY aftermarket exhaust will need hanger upgrades. Go to Kartboy and buy a set, this will keep the exhaust from moving around so much and banging on your undercarriage.

If I remember, my tip was a little off-center too, but all you have to do is grab the appropriate hanger with a large set of pliers, or use a hammer(!), and bend it until it looks right. No big deal, really.

The tip I can live with, so long as my bumper doesn't melt.

The tubing riding on the sway bar bracket is a little disappointing, especially the rattling that I am experiencing. Hanger's aren't going to fix this, the problem is in the geometry of the bends (or lack thereof). The stock tubing was much "curvier" to clear suspension pieces, where the RRM tubing is pretty straight. I'll take some pics when I get a free moment.

Trust me, hangers will fix it. Hangers will pull the exhaust pipe upwards and away from the sway bar nearly an inch.

Mine has fit nicely , my paint did melt off on the inside of the lip kit , you would have to get under my car to notice, not a big deal.As for the sway bar getting slapped around I'll look into it , but I got the RA for performance and fun if I wanted a luxury car I would of gotten a Lexus.

The problem isn't the sway bar, its the vertical sway bar bracket connecting to the frame. Pulling the exhaust tubing up and inch vertically will just mean its going to hit the bracket one inch higher.

I'll get pictures tonight.

Just trust me, many of us have had this problem, and the hangers fix it. The hangers pull the exhaust up and away.

Shouldn't have any effect, since a resonator is a straight pipe with no obstructions.

+1 I installed a Borla Muffler with a custom pipe and it was moving all around and hitting the sway bar everywhere.Bought the kartboy hangers and problem solved. Best $40.00 spent in a long time
