It's not normal, but it's a very common problem. The stock flexpipe sucks. Many of us having leaking ones.

I just swapped over my stock setup and replaced it with the RRM Downpipe. Though I'm getting a cat installed, I had no choice but to run catless for a couple of days. I hit a rock and my already dead flexpipe was no longer attached... haha But I must say our cars are really loud, raspy and annoying without a cat. I can't wait to have a cat in.. Its forcing me to drive at like 15% throttle due to the farty sound that comes out if i push anymore. Though downshifting spits out a ton of pops...

The RRM flex pipe is shorter, which should show less likeliness of it ripping. Its also a stiffer setup.

I have the same problem. Dealer had already changed my flexpipe and cat assembly once, after a while, the noise is back.
Now they are ordering anther one for me, but they said they only can change it twice.

if its under warranty they should have to replace it as many times as needed... mitsu parts have a 1200 mile parts warranty after being replaced if you're out of your vehicle warranty.

I don't know if it's the same thing for the USA but here in canada they will only change it if you can hear the noise with the windows closed. They are getting strict about this because like someone said, even if they change it, the noise will come back.
