maybe so, just venting in general. I have gotten less than 100% advice from someone at your shop before, but I know to expect that sometimes. I just wish more people would take the effort to make sure they know instead of assuming. do you even sell any head that is only ported and polished, no valvetrain work

that's like the shop we had an appoinment with more than 3 weeks in advance for two cars on the dyno. I even called the Thursday before to make sure they could accomodate another car. and they weren't open when we showed up...

like I said, just venting in general, as the idiocy seems to be widespread

like i said i did read the description on your site so i had an idea of what you did, when i called to get a little more info, port and polish is what i was told. im not saying that you dont upgrade the valvetrain. it was probably a mistake and nobody got hurt.

your right, reading is the key to success in life

Higher compression, head porting w/ matched cams, good intake and exhaust mods with an ignition amp, light weight wheels, and a good tune will make for an awesome NA car.

i wonder how long my stock pistons/rods will hold up with higher compression.

the real question is how are you going to raise your compression without changing you stock pistons or rods. I mean, if you are going to mill the head or something you might as well do pistons and rods

mill the head is quite 'useless'
never ever going to raise comp better than pistons

depends on the clearance, I didn't look all that closely, but milling the head a little can net a compression change. not saying it's the way to go, but it seems that without pistons or rods the only other thing you could do besides milling the head would be to add metal to the combustion chambers.

chances are i wont raise the comp. due to the fact that i would have to go through a lot to get high comp. pistons/rods.

me and my buddy worked the numbers out. a n/a w/ full bolt-ons will be around 190-200 whp. and the rrm turbo kit is about 210-220 whp for 1500 more dollars. save money and go n/a.
