it's been done by a guy out of ontario, but as i recall, he pulled it out of the car.
he did have a very nicely done DIY turbo kit behind it thou. not sure of the reasons he removed the megasquirt.

They are reliable it just depends on what you want to do. I use a mega quirt on my shops race car. It's a 71 124 Volvo. It works great. I don't why it wouldn't work like a champ in our cars.

yes, ive instaleld and tuned megasquirt on a datsun 280zx with a L28 engine, very powerful setup, at a fraction of the cost of other setups.

you must completely rebuild the ecu map from scratch using the Megasquirt. ModernRacer is the person who did the turbo set up with MS.

And isn't the SAFCII just a "AF" controller? MS is a complete standalone

I've done and tuned a few dozen megasquirt systems in the last few years. A $200 ECU will never perform like a $4000 motec. If you decide to go this route then it's unlikely that you will ever have factory-ilke driveability. The megasquirt does not support fully sequential injection. It does not do drive by wire throttle. It's idle air control is pretty basic. All in all it's a good toy for a weekend car if you're interested in learning about electronics and tuning. For what it costs it's pretty good but don't expect too much.

yah after researching a bit more i decided against it id rather fork over more cash than have all the frustration that could potentially come with an ecu like that

megasquirt is best used on domestics and should go nowhere near imports... but that is just my opinion. There are more then a few guys out there who have had good luck with it.

Yeah that's the reason i pulled out, after finding out that the Fly by wire system cannot be supported and other items, i decided to go another route, the best was is either satand alone or a well known piggy-back unit ie: Split-Second, halteh, etc....
