LSD conversion

Has anyone used the phantom grip? Will it hold a turbo RA pull? does it really works?

It's been brought up before, but I'm pretty sure they don't make one for our application.

Just my .02.....I would rather go with a "true" LSD than a Phantom Grip. I have heard mixed reviews from other applications.
If you are gonna crack open the diff, may as well just get the Quaife. But that may just be me.

A phantom grip definitely doesn't perform to the level of a true LSD, but it would be an improvement over an open diff, and $300>$1200 according to my wallet.

I had one in my evo for 3 months. Then I got another transfer case and it had a ralliart in it. I REALLY cant tell the difference between the real and the phantom grip. I do know the draw back is that the phantom grip puts A LOT more pressure on the diff so it will probably be prone to break easier than the LSD.

I ask them and they said that they have it for the Lancer ralliart.
It just doesn't convince me...

yeah it would be a much of an improvement, but how long will it last and how much HP can the phantom grip hold

If you have a part number, post it up for reference. I may be looking into this in the future as I'm starting to get sick of traction issues while cornering.

wait....$300 > $1200?? Must be Michigan math. I know what you mean though.

For me, I would rather have peace of mind.....especially with a FI application (like the OP has). If it was my car, and it was FI, I would have budgeted the Quaife in there.

yep, came off a set of RR tracks in a hurry the other day and "broke loose" one side of the car sucks having to stomp on it and having one wheel spin and the other just sit there I guess 3rd gear next time

also, if that's Michigan math count me in cheaper is always better

Theres a Phantom Grip that fits Ralliart trannys, but I dont know which one is it, there are a few Ralliarts in PR with Phantom Grip.

The PG works, it does a very good job as a LSD, but some people say its not as good as a REAL LSD (and that should be true) I have hear a lot of bad stories about PG, but also a lot of very very long lasting PG.

i have seen it installed don a few ra with good outcomes....
yet i saw just one that 'came loose' and all hell broke loose.....

it solely depends on the level of detail and attention when installing
