Idling Issue....please help!

So I stopped to pick up the GF and my car started idling at 2000rpm and my CEL went on....so I shut the car off, and started it back up and now its idling noormal now but wont rev past 3000prm and sounds like its hitting the limiter....in order for the tach to even move the peddle needs to be half way down....I thought it might have been cruise related so I pulled the fuse and still nothing...im lost on this one guys...

thanks in advance....any help would be great

Considering there are dozens of situations that can throw a car into limp mode, it's pointless to speculate.

Well I understood half that anyway....I never said I had a code...but i know its the TPS now, so the stock airbox is back in and im heading to the dealership tomorrow...limp mode FTL!

If you needed more info than my original post and could have figured it out, then you my friend are AMAZING!...I did fart right before it happened so it could have been the humidity change, but a smoking hot chick walked infront of my car with a bag of Ice...so the combination of the two could have done some serious damage for sure! that **** starts tornado's

thanks to the people who acctually contributed...wait a minute....no one did....ahh well...thanks anyway...

It sounds like an identical problem I had. When we were wiring in my piggyback, the MAF sensor wire was not connected properly and it threw the car in limp mode. It could be other things, but maf is definitely on top of the list.

Like I said, it was the TPS....tons of things can throw a car into limp mode...

new TPS will be here earlier in the week, so limp mode for a few more days....right now it seems to be fine, just idling too high
