oil temp guage install leaking help

so as a result of the issues i have been having with my oil system i decided to install a oil pressure and temp guage. the temp guage came with a variety of drain plug sizes. i found the one that matched my RA and everythong went fine. after my first test drive i parked it and left it when i came back some time later there was a oil puddle under the drain hole it was not hudge but big enough. the problem is the fitting is brass and im afraid to tighten it down to much. i put teflon on the threads before the install. does anyone know where i can buy a new steel fitting that still has the hollow center for the thermometer? what is everyone else using? i cant see using this brass piece and taking it out every oil change its going to break at some point. thanks for the input.

Which hole did you use and did you use a BSPT adapter or NPT?

Ah, if you put it in the oil drain hole, did you use a new crush washer?

You should not put a steel fitting into the aluminum block it makes it to easy to mess up the block. as for the crush washer thats a key parts but you could also just use quick dissconnect fittings to insure it wont leak and for removability. you can put it onto the back of the block under the intake manifold, you can ether T off the oil light sensor or jsut unplug the sensor for the oil light and put your fitting in the hole from oil light sender switch.

opps sry i was refering to the pressure gauge leaking. but i suppose you could just T off the oil light for that to.

thanks for the reply guys. I went up to the local mitu dealer and picked up a crush washer. put it on there making sure not to tighten the brass fitting to much. Seems to be leak free now. thanks again.
