i dont think that would hurt cause it might be flutering

is your car auto

if its not auto then it would be the clutch switch.

try starting it it neutral if park doesnt work. and you can always check the switch it should be close to the linkage on the trany

The car is 5spd. Sometimes it will start, sometimes it won't. AFter awhile it will start, exact symptoms as the pT cruiser. I thought the clutch switch was under the clutch pedal?

it is under there for the clutch not the auto the auto is off the tranny

sound more like your battery might be takinga dumop or you have a bad ground witch could happend cause the starter gets its ground from bolting to the tranny witch has a ground wire on it so make sure thats good to go

I figured out my problem. My throwout bearing was having intermittent engagement problems. I would have to pump the clutch a few times then it would finally grab. ****ing bull****.
