This is the input shaft of my old tranny. If you see the dog-teeth on the right have some chips. If you were able to see the middle of the teeth you'd see that the metal had a heat spot and that's where the failure began. Also damaged my carrier bearing. It was a mess by, but all the gears and synchros had about 1K miles on them since my rebuild, then it just gave way.
