trans adjustment?
trans adjustment?
well today i noticed the clutch started to slip on my ralliart car only has 50k on it i really dont think it should be its not bad but if i try and get on it hard at the start it slips i noticed it started to smell a lil bit and was wondering if anyone knew if there was any way to adjust it at all??
i believe there is a clutch pedal adjustment that can be done, let me double check that
*edit* yeah the clutch pedal is adjusted inside the car, but if the pedal is to the floor and it's still slipping there is probably something else wrong...
and also inside the clutch housing, you can shim the ball behind the clutch release fork with a lock washer or something like that...
are you the first owner? if not it may have been a "learner" car and the clutch disc could very well be toast...but if it's only got 50k on it, you may be able to reuse the pressure plate and just replace the disc...
another possibility is you blew an oil seal and tranny fluid, or some other kind of oil is in the clutch
*
or you're not getting hydraulic pressure...you check the fluid?
you can verify pedal play and check for hydraulic pressure yourself, but actually inspecting the clutch will take quite a bit of down time to do on your own...pulling the transmission out is kind of a pain in the ****...i pulled mine last weekend, took me about 3 hours by myself, and the car was already off the ground..but when i actually dropped it i had a guy there with me for safety...
