Throttle response is much more responsive. I pretty much have to feather it now as to keep it under 2.5-3k rpms

ive ran a couple diff intake being custom made short ram, a short ram and an AEM cai AND a ebay CAI. Never noticed much of a diff between them. the CAI gives me better top end and the flash solved my botom end loss. as for short ram the custom one i made that used the stock tube WORKED JUST THE SAME as the AEM one.

Not necessarily saying to buy from here, but look at the of the bends and parts to get an idea of what you can make. Then shop around to find it cheaper if possible.

I like silicone a lot more than hard pipes, pretty good insulators against heat.
+1 I am getting the silicon couplers and the 3" 90 elbow. The only thing I have to find a welder to weld the little pipe for the vac line, the one next to the TB.

I was wondering when you were going to chime in on this one Dacib.... You don't need a welder though, just drill a hole tap it, get barb fitting and some Teflon tape , done deal

Heres my set-up. Dont mind how the battery is being held in place, im going to weld a tray in. Just tough with working 60 hours a week. I used to have a cai but had problems with water messing with it when it would rain.

same as we call it on military aircraft, ram air, or increased velocity due to relative motion through the air..

Yes, but the filter/intake in his car isn't exposed to a constant stream of air that is causing positive pressure/or even the slightest decrease in vacuum in the pipe.

Put a pressure sensor in the intake pipe, load it on the dyno and load it on the street. Gonna be pretty much the same...

It's as silly as running with my mouth open and expecting my lungs to explode.

lol, i don't want to get into it too much, i was just making the point that ram air exists on aircraft, and serves a similar function for a different purpose and is called the same thing. But, I don't see why it wouldn't have a similar effect in a vehicle as minuscule as it may be. I admit it's quite clear any power increase if any is neglegeable, but to some degree, it is a ram air intake. I like mine for the sound.

i don't think it'll make much of a difference, but i can't see it doing nothing at all
