alrite we now understand the strangeness of the name. lets keep it friendly here guys.

i do really like the thought of the injen cai but the fact that i have to cut a hole in my splash guard is kind of making me not want to.

I got 2 questions with your setup:
1. Routing the filter all the way in that corner isn't it restricted, not getting enough air?
2. What is the red wire for along the throttle cable?

1. It gets plenty of air. The heat shield only covers the top part of the filter, the bottom is open. You can see down to the ground under the filter.
2. The red wire is for my fans. I dont have a/c anymore so i hooked the fans up to a switch. Its uner my fog light switch and looks stock. The fans still go on and off but i can turn them on when i want too.

i like your intake a lot, looks better than my short ram, and i like it better than a CAI, cause you can still see the filter, super clean man.

Now for the shocker. This intake cost me six dollars!!! I used the part for the maf from the stock air box. The rest is pvc piping from lowes painted flat black. I get a ton of compliments on it but no one notices its pvc piping. Same diameter as the maf piping. Ive tried a rrm cai, ebay cai, and this is my favorite by far.

For a DIY job, this actually looks really good, and not tacky at all.

You could have installed a air bypass valve if you were that concerned.

I wasnt concerned when i put it on, until it rained. Everytime it rained the car would sputter and not run properly. The maf would get wet and make the car act up. This is my dd so i didnt want to worry about driving in the rain. I dont notice much of a difference with the setup i have now and the old cai.

What I did was I went with a AEM SRI, then extended the filter from the engine with a 2.5 aluminum tube with some silicone tubes and clamps. I have a OBD II reader and found that my intake air would be around 45-60 degree Celsius. To combat this issue I ran ducting towards the filter taking air from under that car making a hole in the bottom splash guard in which now during driving I decrease my air temp from -12 *winter temp* and 9-20 degree Celsius *summer*.

My AEM SRI

I have the AEM SRI with the snorkel and honestly I have not seen any considerable power gains. There us definitely a difference in sound but From what I can tell a CAI will provide me with even better sound and better gains. CAI all the way for me. I will be posting my SRI with snorkel for sale in the market place soon.

Ps. Ralliart610. That is a sick setup, great idea. You should manufacture a prototype LRI, patent it and make millions.

Did you tune it for the intake? Its the only way to get any sort of power out of any modification.

How do I tune it?

I will be installing a CAI, Header, DP, Catback and Piggyback. I should probably tune it after that. How do I tune?

If you get the piggyback you don't have to tune it, but it would be better to save the money from the piggyback and get the tune. From what I've read with the piggyback you have to reset the ECU every week or so.

I wouldn't say it's as often as every week, but I suppose it depends on the car. Every once in awhile the ecu will figure out it's being manipulated or something along that line, the sly thing it is, and will fight and override the piggyback.

Solved by disconnecting negative terminal, then reconnect the battery.

But yeah, having a tune that you know won't ever slip away would definitely be a plus haha.
