DIY (SRI) short ram air intake

Alright so I have a 03 lancer es and instead of buying the real expensive air intakes I went to an auto shop and bought piping, hoses and a filter as well as a MAS adaptor. Put it al together and it works great, but I'm just wondering if for some reason it might be wrong to do it the way I did it, the cheap way. Because I haven't seen anyone do it, but hey it works great. Just thought id post this so I can see others reactions.
Please let me know what you think.

You did it exactly right lol. For all the Hp you would actually gain with a SRI on a 4g94. It doesn't make much sense to go and spend $250 on a AEM. Post a pic of how it looks.
