starter issue?

Last night I parked my car went back outside to leave and I got in and turn the key and only here some.noises but no crank. Does anybody know where the starter is located on the 03 lancer es

Just follow wires off of your positive terminal. One of them should go to it.

I found the starter but the noise I'm hearing sounds like it's coming from this thing right underneath the throttle body, I'm not sure what it could be though. And ideas?

Looked at again and it turns out the starter is dead but I tried taking it off but could not remove one of the bolts for the ground cable for the starter. Any thoughts or advice?

It's been so long since I have removed my alternator. I'd go take a look at it if it wasn't 1 degree outside lol. It's hard to tell from the pic what's going on. Is it just that tight, or you don't have room to turn a wrench? Can you get a socket on it, maybe swivel socket if you need? Or use a ratchet wrench. If it's too tight and you don't have much turning room. You could put another wrench onto that wrench to use as leverage.
