Front Motor Mount

I feel really dumb for asking this, but where exactly is the front motor mount? I have quickly searched for it from the top of the engine but didn't really see anything resembling the blox one I have. I was trying to do research on where its located on other cars, stating its underneath.

Anyone have any photos to help me out I'm going to my father-in-laws shop tomorrow to change it along with my fluids. I know he would do it for me, but I try to learn about the stuff I want to change before I get there.

just to the right of the headers. its more hooked up to the transmission on the cross member instead of the actual engine

Look underneath the engine. You will see a flat piece of steel under the engine, running front-to-back along the centerline of the car, it's about two feet long. On top that piece of steel is the front motor mount, and you can't see the mount until you remove the flat steel member. It's all easy to remove, just a few bolts for the steel piece, two that secure the motor mount to that piece, and the one thru the center of the motor mount that ties it to the engine (if i remember correctly).

When taking the mount out do you need something to secure the motor so it doesn't drop? Or it is just fine to remove the bolt and take it out? I always wondered that.

might want to hold it up with a floor jack or jackstand or something to support the weight

i would recommend supporting it by the transmission. not by the oilpan.

the passenger and driver side mounts will hold the weight of the engine, plus the rear mount is on the subframe, not the crossmember, so it will still be bolted up as well, and it and the front mount are only to keep the motor from rolling, so removing the front mount won't make much difference...a jack might come in handy aligning the new mount, but there's ways around that...nothing wrong with being extra cautious, though, so do what you feel is safe for yourself, and your car

So I was able to do it I did support it with by the transmission. I would suggest for anyone else changing their mount to support a little. It made it quite easy to put it all back together. Also the old mount was in good shape still, just moved around a lot, was a pain to get off the crossmember due to rust.

Also while I was under there I was looking at my exhaust to see if I still had the CEL eliminator on there which I did, but it's not the weapon-r like I thought, its a longer straight one. Should I try the weapon-R or try the RRM one? I think the one I got was some eBay one

haha actually it doesn't. I do have a Cat but its less than a year old. But the code still comes on sadly. I removed the CEL eliminator to see if maybe with a cat it caused issues, but still comes on. So I was wondering which one might work better RRM or Weapon-R. I plan on redoing my exhaust since its very raspy and sadly hangers are breaking and a lot of it is different piping (age wise not size) I know a shop that will do it all for like 150-200.

When I looked at the o2 sensor it was completely black, could it possibly be bad? I don't think I have ever replaced the back one yet.

Also I'm enjoying the motor mount, the extra vibration is something to get used to at Idle. I have noticed that my shifts are more clean and crisp, I used to get a lag when going into the next gear, but it pulls fine now. So very happy with it
