Ultimate Racing

Ultimater Racing has released a intake and exhaust system, which also can be purchased as a power package.

damn if anyone thought I was being picky about the RRM intake costing too much at $219, imagine what I think about that intake. I just had my full 2.5" cat-back exhaust installed and it cost me under $150 total.

You guys are lucky even to pay the $490US for the exhaust system.... For Canadians we pay a lot more! When I originally called Ultimate-Racing they told me to call Mitsubishi(Markham)...they were dealing with Canadian customers and Mitsubishi told me $1,100CDN....... The US dollar must have really gone up because when I convert $490US= $643CDN....not $1,100. Sorry Ultimate Racing.....great product, just expensive for my blood. Get your intake custom made....if the shop knows what they're doing it will work just as good. I was going to buy RRM's but it's not ideal for our Canadian conditions.....So my shop made a custom one for mine.....Jan.29 2004- I got a re-quote from (Mitsu Markham) of $1,100 cdn for both intake and exhaust

I dunno about that intake man. It seems so insignificant. It doesn't gain much. It's design is very simple and its location is questionable. It looks like it would suck up a bunch of hot air. I don't think it's worth it. I'm just gonna wait for injen or aem. I know injen has one in the works.

Well, the website link shows $685 for the stage 1 kit and $195 for intake alone. For $685 their dyno sheets show 8.2 whp and 3.8 wtq gains. I would like to know how that compares to RRM but so far haven't been able to find any dyno numbers on their products.

Intake is a piece of crap, anyone can make that with a 25 dollar MAS adapter of ebay and a pipe bender. The exhaust itself looks good, what type of muffler is it. All in all, overpriced save yourself about $530 and get a custom installed exhaust and buy a decent intake after that.

please dont mislead too far, there isnt a MAS adapter for the RA. The MAS is one piece with the air box. BUT...intakes are actually less expensive to make because all you have to do is cut the MAS housing off the airbox and connect piping to that. (I used a standard saw to cut with) I custom made my CAI with a pipe bender and filter with very pleasant results. I think I spent $13 for the filter (ebay). $15 for the cold air extension from the MAS. $3 for blue paint and some free stickers from Mitsubishi of El Cajon for dress up. $2 for rubber connector hose from Home Depot. $2 for tie clamps. OK so my total cost for my custom CAI was $32.
