Question Ideas to move forward...

Hello,

I feel as though I have hit a brick wall on my car as to which step to take next. The ralliart is just at about 58K so I plan on doing the timing belt package soon does anyone have any other suggestions while I'm in there to upgrade? I'd love to get boost, just can't swing the cost right now with having a family but I feel I'm running out of smaller cost wise parts to put on. I was thinking about replacing my downpipe since I know that is a bottleneck on the factory exhaust. I figured a local exhaust shop could have a fairly cheap fix for that.

Here's my list...

RRM SRI
RRM Timming Control Box
RRM UD Pulley
RRM Piggyback
RRM Lower rear tie bar
RRM Rear upper strut bar
Progess Rear Swaybar w/Perches
Evo Front Engine Roll Stopper
PPI Ported Intake Manifold
63mm TB w/GT Fabrications Thermal Gasket
Grounding Kit & Voltage Stabilizer
F & R Eline Cross-Drilled & Slotted with Posi Quiet Pads
Energy Suspension Front Swaybar Bushings
Hardwired Passport 8500 & Garmin 255W
MR Sport Meter Kit & Autometer A/F
Galant Washer Nozzles
Silverstar Headlight & Fog Light Bulbs
Front Grill Ralliart Mark

Thanks in advance for everyone's thoughts...

Eric

looks like thousands of $$ worth of parts, that could be spent on a turbo kit, lol...

i recommend the sway bar for sure...strut bar is ok, tie bar, i'm still not convinced...and a reflashed ECU is cheaper than RRM's piggy back and timing box combo, and it's better and has more features...UD pulley is a gimmick in my eyes, of course it's going to make a little difference, but it's up to you really...don't get the short ram intake, they're terrible...

are you auto x'ing tor tracking this car regularly? cause brakes are one of the most expensive aesthetic mods out there...

If you wait long enough hopefully we have a new version of the Delta Cam out in the next few weeks.

Looks pretty solid. If your going to stay NA id say some type of headers and downpipe. But if your going Turbo some day dont bother.

Are you still on the stock Springs and Shocks? If so get some Tein S.Techs or a set of coilovers.

oh you already have that stuff? yeah you can't do much else that's going to make much of a difference, other internal modifications, so basically if you go turbo a lot of the stuff you have will be useless, or you can go all motor, high compression...

scrap the SRI though...lol

Tisk , tisk guys..... I see alot of missed cheap upgrades.....

Ok so this is based on you staying NA. I would either extend the rrm sri, sell it for a CAI, or make some sort of heat shield. That radiatior fan blows hot air right into your motor with the sri. Next the rrm timing and piggyback , sell them. Get a tactrix 2.0 cable , a wideband, and Hackish's reflash/software. You will have to put a little more money out of pocket, but you can infinitely make tunes for YOUR car ,not have a piggy tune from 2004 made under unknown conditions.

Since you have the front motor mount done look into doing the rear with the DIY route. Look at the "how to" section. Start looking for a set of springs for the cheaper way, or a set of coilovers of you can to get th most out of the rest of the suspension mods you have done. Tires ,tires ,tires, probably the most important part of any car, as they can make or break cars setup. Good tires improve your launch, overall handling, and most importantly you braking. I've never heard anyone say "I wish my tires didn't grip so good".

I'm not sure if your auto or stick , if stick , look into the base and underhood solid shifter bushings for improved shifting. Also a weighted shift knob helps. Maybe a vortex generator and a stubby antenna, some hellatone horns, upgrade interior lights with brighter LEDs, and this is one that I'm wanting to do myself, do a complete detail on the car. I'm talkin 10+hours of cleaning, scrubbing, waxing, buffing, etc.

So I'm sure you see something here that interests you

All you need is a laptop , the software, a wideband, and a tactrix 2.0 cable.

Does Hackish have the software out finally? Or is it still not ready?

This is the cog in the wheels. Then you need to know how to tune with the damn thing. Also don't forget you need a wideband for AFR monitoring.

$$$$$...then you add more parts....then re-tune...$$$$$...then you can't do any more to the car, then you sell it and buy a Genesis like Flip did.

I used UV tune to reflash my ECU after installing my turbo kit...it works, but i'm not sure how much i'm allowed to tell you all about it, but i liked it, simple, straight forward...still beta testing boys...hang in there.

Well since every little bit helps, run the OEM snorkel with the SRI.
