What Sensor is This?

Looking around my engine I can see like a wet spot where its getting dirty. I'm not having any codes or anything abnormal going on with the engine but just feel like a seal may have corroded or something. I cant tell if its oil or if its coolant so here's a picture to help

oil pressure swich or engine coolant temp...the pic kinda sucks, i'll go look

hmm, definately not oil pressure, look like coolant, cause it's right where the EGR is recirculated through the head, but i don't think EGR temp or flow is monitored...i'll have to reference the manual, you don't have a copy Raikiri?

yeah, it's engine coolant temp...can you smell burning coolant? it has a distinctive odor..

yeah those were my 2 guesses. yeah sorry about the pic. its kind of in a tight spot on the engine where i could get a decent picture of the placement and wiring.

i have the manual but wasnt sure where to look. THING IS HUGE!!! o.o but yeah i guess its clear now what the sensor is

i thought i've been smelling something weird but i figured it was an exhaust leak or something

since the sensor isnt bad is there a way to reseal it? im not sure tightening it will solve the issue. sucks is i dont really know how to drain the coolant as i have no clue where the drain plug is on the radiator

the drain plug is a small plastic "butterfly" plug i think it's closer to the passenger side if i remember correctly, but i usually just pull off the rad hose.

i was looking at the sensor last night, and noticed mine appears to be leaking, but not like to describe, it's just got some crusty cooked coolant around it, but no liquid leaking, so i must have a very slow leak myself, but i don't think you'll be able to get a wrench on it where it sits...it looked like it was in an awkward spot...maybe you could, i didn't bother...but you'll likely want back it all the way out, and use teflon tape or something...simply tightening it might not be the fix, and could possibly over-torque it...

^unless its actually wet and dripping i wouldnt worry about it...its normal for seams to seep a bit and get a bit crusty from coolant specially w/ high mileage, its fine unless it actually leaks...

my work computer wont let me see most uploaded pics on this site(the one here included), so im not 100% what it looks like...but if its not wet and trailing it should be ok...

as for the smell if it smells sweet(some say like roasting marshmallows or like maple syrup)...its deff coolant burning somewhere
