intermittent alternator issues
Still trying to figure it out. As soon as we get it though, I'll post up the solution.
For now though. We're going to take a multi meter and find out the voltage on the terminal of the alternator, and if its over 12 and DC, take a ******* wire and run it straight to the ******* battery terminal. Once that's done, I'll take another ******* wire and run it from the negative straight to the chassis wherever the hell I see fit. Then this thing might finally be reliable again. No more charging issues, no more grounding issues. Done.
Now all i need to do is pull wolf away from halo 4, get his keys, and get it done.
Thanks for the help everyone. This is just one of those problems that needs more resources than i have stored up in my head. A little info always goes a long way.

SOLVED!!!
...well, mostly solved, lol. Still needs cleaning up.
So, after fixing the electrical issues with all the elegance of a trailer park engineer, we got the car to run without being hooked up to the battery in my Impreza. No more pushing Wolfs car, Yay!
Now I'm not quite 100% on this, but it appears to have been the ground from the battery to the chassis that gave us the issue. First it slowly gave up, and then the connection had just had enough and quit. So, there's some nice and obvious new wire going from the battery to the chassis as a proof of concept. Now, the connections weren't prepped or sanded to its intermittent again, but it's to the point that its always working, but just a little twitchy on the voltage. I wouldn't be taking it for a road trip in its state, but it does drive.
Just disconnect the new wires, finish up the proper prep of the connections, hook them back up and then...Presto! A fully operational car, once again.
