sry to revive this thread but my release fork just broke as well and i would like to buy some thing thats better than that cheap cast bull**** and since there isnt anywhere to make one around here thats really all i can do. from what i can tell from my manual, our trannys are the same as the base model 2.0 lancers. can some one confirm this for me please cuz i can only find release forks for the base models.

 

negative, unless they changed it from 04-06, cause my 03 ES, the slave cylinder and release bearing is all one piece...

 

I have the same problem in my 2004 RA. Does any of you have an idea of how much aprox could it cost to get it done at a machine shop?

 

it would be better to find a company that makes aftermarket forks, and send them an OEM one, and then they can run a batch...I will buy one...

a one off custom piece would cost a lot if done manually, and also for them to measure the stocker and then have a guy program into a cnc just to run one piece, whould be quite costly...I looked into it locally and it was not financially feasible to have one made...the more they make the cheaper they can sell them, as they program the CNC once, use the same set of tools, to make say 50 pieces...then if they sell all 50, then it would be worthwhile for the programming time...
