I know they work problem is they are shorter so if I order a 11:1 piston then use an Evo rod that is 0.050" shorter then it is no longer an 11:1

Looks like they are gonna work out for me. Thanx for the point in the right direction. Should be ordering today or tomorrow.

I calculated the compression loss awhile back and if I recall correctly, it was about .5, which equates to about 2 or 3 hp/tq. Not too big of a difference to me, but might be for others. Either way, just some handy info that I hope will help.

Appreciated that. I got it all figured out. Found a company to make them for me ( thanx lanzer) ordered today should have them in a few weeks.
They are 11:1 comp, 0.040" bore over (88mm), on top of Evo VIII rods, full float wrist pins and chromoly rings. This set up effectively ups displacement 54.9cc making it a 2432.9cc motor. ;-)
Build thread when I get parts.

Nice , you should talk to SSP he is in south cal too and has/had the fastest NA Ralliart.

So that difference in the rod isn't a problem anymore? I had a setup for boost that had pistons 0.020 over, I sold the kit as its a lot of extra work pulling the block, boring it , reinstall. I think I'm looking for the drop in piston approach this time around. Although I an now more inclined to go NA I guess I'm getting old, and learning that hp isn't everything.

SSP is here in Sacramento with me. He is helping me out off forum.
IIRC that company has a drop in as well with no bore over but they use chromoly rings that requires a flatter cross hatching.
The rod was an issue but once I explained the setup dude figured it out. He's an old school hot rodder. He been designing pistons for 55yrs.

Ill ask him next time I talk to him. I just told the piston guy I was using a 0.050" shorter rod and that the piston needed to compensate. Not sure if he's just raising the height or lower the wrist pin location. I'm waiting for a call back from him then ill ask.

Alright, that sounds good. I'm just curious because I know of at least 8 4g69s that swapped oem or aftermarket evo 8-9 rods an it worked out good for them.

I know measuring out my turbo pistons compared to stock and they just lowered the wrist pin stroker style.
