UPDATE Weird knocking noises....

Hey, So I noticed a while ago that i was getting some knocking sounds when i corner hard... Now, however, it happens even when i corner at like 30-40...

Its sequential, like knock knock knock knock, and its not quiet, when i accelerate from 0 i get a thudthudthudthud noise that gets less noticeable at higher speeds.

Unfortunately its very hard to diagnose noises on my car because of my exhaust setup...

Any ideas?

UPDATE: I dropped my tranny, changed the TOB along with installing the act clutch, and then threw it all back together, I also ended up changing my slave cylinder, it blew out. Also rebuilt my tranny... Anyway, now the noises are gone, and my shifting is now smooth as hell, and act clutch is awesome.

End story, it was my tob and now its all fixed.

sounds like your exhaust hangers must be going out and its the exhaust pipe hitting on your suspension or something

Put it on stands all four corners, and check your sway bars mounts and end links. Also check your exhaust for clearence, do you have an O2 sensor tapped for AF guage?

Well, Ive just gone out and checked, my exhaust was off one of its hangers, so maybe thats the knocking, but would that account for the acceleration noise? and the o2 sensor isn't tapped. Ill go out for another test drive, but theres a lot of traffic at the moment.

where does the noise come from? is it coming from the general area of the CV joint or is it toward the mid/rear of the car? my CV joint only clicks when its really cold outside and the car has been sitting for a bit. after it gets moving and the lube warms up its usually good til it sits for a while again.

cv joints can get really loud when they're fubar, almost like they're binding and letting go, binding and letting go...

Well, after re-attaching the hanger for my muffler, the loud smashing sound from the rear end is gone, but the flubadaflubaduflubada sound when i start moving, is still there, and thats coming from front-mid car.

i think if your exhaust isn't mounted/secured properly it will knock but it would sound like a hollow piece of metal banging on the underside of your car. it would also shake when you accelerate and/or rev your engine as air is going through it but it's not fully supported.

just try revving it while in neutral. rev as high as you can and if you hear a knocking noise, get someone to rev it for you and take a look if your exhaust is shaking. if not, then it's not the exhaust lol

Well, in neutral it doesn't make the noise, so I doubt its the exhaust, but I suppose the vibration would be different whilst in gear.

Take into the possibility of an exhaust leak?

Does your noise happen only when your turning or also when your driving straight? Easy way to tell if its ur axle if it makes a clicking sound when your turning and gets louder if you step on it its ur axle also it should only do it either when your turn left or right not both unless both of ur axles are shot....to know which one it is if your turning left and it makes a click its your right axle vise versa.. also you can try putting your car on jackstands holding the hole front end up and starting it up if you hear some bad banging noise that seems like its coming from ur transmission its probably the left axle
