hello

So today I had a check engine come back and now it is just saying p0171 system to lean bank 1 and I can get this code before the check engine light is not even on when I plug my scanner into the ecu is this coming from my piggybank or that I need to progam my piggyback to give my car more gas

Is your purge valve solenoid operating correctly?

Also, out the top of my head, possible causes could be :

- Fuel pump dying
- Clogged injectors
- Vacuum leak
- Dirty or faulty MAF
- Modifications to the car (some CAI, extensive exhaust mods, hightened CR...)

With the P0171 code always coming back, you'll probably end-up damaging your spark plugs. I'd keep a close eye on mine, this is what they looked like after about 50-55 000kms (30-35k miles) :

so did you get to it yet?
let us know what happens k?
if it is the purge valve then that's crazy b/c so many of us are having that problem right now.
i guess the lifetime of the stock purge valve solenoid is ~10yrs?...
i still can't find the damn hose.
geez i suck at these things.
i took pics of my EGR+intake mani so i'll circle the part that i THINK is the hose and post the pic and you guys can guide me from there...
lol i'm so N00B...

Look at page 10. I explained how to locate it. In another thread, I also posted a longer explanation but I'm in a rush right now.

Really can't miss it. Pinch it with a vise-grip so that air doesn't go through. Start the car. Is it gone, then it was your PVS.

They wont not even the same system. THe EVOX is the same from my research. Find pics of the EVO8/9 Karmon Vortex MAF it looks like a sandwich container.

Google search EVO8 MAF

Probably a vacuum leak(s). Try to find it (them). The PVS problem could be considered a vacuum leak. Make sure no unmetered air goes in your engine.

Pretty sure he meant the PVS, if not then I advise you don't do that. If you can't find the hose for it and be sure it is, take your car to someone who does.

The code is P0171 system to lean bank 1 and when you freeze frame the code it says fuel system 1 CL-fault and under it says fuel systyem 2 CL-fault. The PVC is on the right side of the motor down in the counter I still have to check that
