engine click sound like a/c turning on...fan on engine shut off

I purchased a 04 ralliart last year and just notice about this a/c click sound on the engine like the a/c is turning on even tho im on heater and the a/c switch is off, my vent knobs arent in the defogger too. So i want to know if any ralliarts out there has this same click sound? or is this normal? or do i have problem with my a/c? also when i shut off the engine fan still runs, is that normal?

...I need answers right away before the next snowfall...

If you are in the defrost mode it is normal. That is to keep it from getting to humid inside the car.

It should not do it if you are in the vent or floor mode.

its the black box looking thing with 3 connectors on the driver's side of the fan shroud....
about $80 for the part from the dealer, 10 minutes, a phillips screwdriver(to help pry off the connectors), and a phillips head screw driver(to remove/install the screws for the controller) and you'll have the fan issue fixed...

it also causes your lights to dim occasionally as well as the fan to cycle on and off continuously while the A/C is in use

Mine went last summer. There are probably very few Ralliarts left that have an original fan control module. Like nekkidlad said, it is a very easy repair. My wife could do it.

Not a fan. Fan control module. Pop your hood and look underneath the air intake snorkel at the drivers side fan. You will see a black box attached to the fan. That is your control module. The box is about 4 inches by 2 inches.

Just finally replaced mine today, got it from some mitsubishi dealer on ebay that was clearing out inventory for $59 shipped. The local dealer wanted $114 for it here so I said why not, it was factory sealed so I wasn't worried about it being one of those other cheap ones on ebay that sell for $35 bucks. This is the seller http://www.ebay.com/sch/dannylj1106/...1&_ipg=&_from= And its easier installed with a 10mm socket and flat head screwdriver. Can't believe I waited so long to replace it as mine has been fried for maybe 2 years or so but it never just died completely the fans just ran constantly.

Oh ok, well thats great instead of it not working at all and your car over heating. Finally can crank my car up and not have the loud *** fans come on instantly lol.

there have been cases where it doesn't work at all, and overheating occurs, but it's not as common...

the important thing is that it's fixed...also they are normally around $70 plus shipping and applicable taxes from various online OEM parts suppliers...generally the dealership will charge a little more, but in Canada they charge double...lol
