Just went through your thread. Looks like a solid build! I didnt see anyone mention it but there is a 106mm stoker crankshaft made for the evo that would work with the 4g69 block. Or you could use the evo's stock 88mm crank and have an engine capable of revving to near 11,000 rpm.

Good luck with your build tho. can't wait to see more progress on it.

Nice thread... Im looking to do an all motor build too... Where can i buy parts to build the valvetrain? Also what is the specific crank (which company) that can exactly fit in the 4g69?

Looked it up. Brian Crower makes that 106mm crank shaft for the 4g63. But it will work in a 4g69.

Thanks for your support bakuro, there actually a 4g member that has 106mm crank in his gs with 150mm hbeams and 8.5:1 pistons and is making like 210whp I believe. I would use a stock 88mm crank but the 4g ecu dont let us rev that high even if tuned it'll just go up to 7200rpm. But that would be a great in the future when I go to turbo, ill put in a 88mm crank with evo 9 head and ecu

Thanks ralli, on the valvetrain side there really isn't anything out there for our motor but I started a thread on club4g about possible valves and valve guides that are with specs to our stock parts here's the link http://club4g.org/board/4g-eclipse-g...omparison.html. Only thing is that I havent had finding specs on aftermarket valve springs to compare with the stock ones. Also any 100mm crank that is for the evo whether 4g63 or 64 will fit into the 4g69.

Good to see some progress being made!

Ive seen several 4g64 and 4g63 builds where the very bottom of the cylinder walls needed to be ground back a tad. Same for a few other locations in the bottom of the block for the 4g64. If your on club3g look up ThePaleHorse. He is doing an amazing awd build on his second Eclipse. And the engine is going to be ridiculously awesome. He's had to grind down quite a bit to make room for his rods.

Overall its looking great though! Keep up the good work!

Im actually still using my 4g69 block. I've seen on the 4g63 that it had to be notch on the area that's on top of where the balance shaft goes but ive never seen it do e on the bottom part of the cylinder. I looked ever for info on that but couldnt find anything.

Yea I know your still using the 69. I was just making reference that Ive seen it done on the 63 and 64 so it shouldnt be a big issue.

I found the thread and page where PaleHorse talks about having the grind his down. It in post 323, scroll down the page and you'll find it. He does a good job of posting lots of pictures of his progress.
