Right Side Engine Mount Studs Sheared Off

I have a 2006 Lancer Sportback, which is a station wagon that has the 2.4l engine.

yesterday i was driving on the highway, and it started making more nose, and the vibration through the gas pedal increased. i pulled off the highway and had the car towed to a Canadian Tire (only place open on the weekend).

Turns out the three studs on the block that the right side engine mount attach to have all sheared off. one had clearly broken a while ago, and the other two both look like they broke very recently. not too surprising that the third would go not long after the second.

the store is going to try to get a mount from the dealer, but i don't see the part with the studs in it in the FSM.

has anyone dealt with this part? can it be removed from the block and replaced separately from the rest of the engine mount? would it be better to take it to my normal independent mechanic to replace the studs?

to change the bracket, you need to remove the timing belt, big job, and if it's crappy tire doing it, you might as well buy a new car...it would be much easier to either extract (if possible) the broken studs, and install new ones...even still you can drill the old bolts right out, and tap the holes, then install new studs....

part number for studs - MR984438 - they are M10x35, if you can find generic class 8.8 or 10.9 fasteners...

That's what I was afraid of. Well, I had caa tow it to my mechanic this morning.

Hopefully he can fix it without taking out the timing belt.
