Transmission compatible with the ralliart

Is the FM542 transmission our same exact transmission just different part number . Does the gearing change ? What would be compatibil transmission for my 2005 lancer ralliart I can't find a tranny . Has anyone put a eclipse tranny in there car ?!!! Help

the F5M42 gear box is correct, but there are a number of different versions of it, with different bell housings/gear ratios etc. if it was mounted to a 4G69 it should be the same as ours.

ok, yeah, that one is from a 3g eclipse, so it would have mated with the 4G64...which is the same block essentially. not sure what the ratios are in those, but it should bolt up...worst case scenario you have to swap the diff if the splines are different, but I can't see why they would be...

Do you think the ratios would be xtremle different ? Or I should be alright . Wish I could find a transmission man for the ralliart.

i don't have the manual for the 3g eclipse, but the 4g eclipse ratios are the same as a 2.0 lancer, so I would assume the 3g would be the same...the ralliart has a different 5th and final ratio...
