Weird starting issue

Seems like there are a couple starting issues lately while I browsed, but nothing specific to my issue. I'm leaning towards a starter issue, but would like some feedback too. Car has had intermittent issues starting. I originally thought it was my clutch as I almost have 200k miles on the original clutch, so I unplugged the safety switch. It got a lot better, now it only seems to do it if I have to start the car up again within a short amount of time. What happens is that everything turns on, but as soon as I turn the key it just doesn't start. No engine noises, nothing. Acts like the clutch isn't pushed in, but obviously doesn't start. So what are some thoughts? Starter or something maybe else? No CEL's either.

A corroded ground connection or broken ground wire. Check them all. Clean them with sandpaper while you're there. And clean the starter terminal connections.

Alright! I think I may have figured it out just by dumb luck yesterday. I went and got some coffee from good ole Dunkin Donuts. Well I was in the parking lot for about 10 minutes trying to get the car to start. Almost gave up till I realized the key isn't going all the way in! It's like 2mm not in, so I pushed it in and turned and it started up. After work I was testing my theory out by trying to see if I can turn it without it fully in, even though it totally seems like it is. So the key turns just doesn't start until I push it in ever so slightly more.

Could this be the key just getting worn down? I need to try my other key to see about that one, or maybe the ignition itself. Because I noticed if I don't hold it in while turning it does fall out just enough.

RalliartN I did look for some corrosion, I think I'll need to check my other wires regardless though.

Cranswick, I was trying to wiggle the key when I was stuck there for 10 minutes haha. It was kind of frustrating to say the least.

could be the key cylinder, doesn't sound like the ignition switch to me, but it's weird that the cylinder will turn without the key being fully inserted...could still be the ignition switch though, as if the cylinder will turn the switch should close.

Trust me it's weird, but it is turning without it fully in. It's so stupid, that's what it is. I probably turned my car on and off 15 times testing it out. I'll see what kind of prices I'm looking at for the cylinder...

Sounds like somethings wore out or broken in the wiring if the starter is good
