Bought a cam sensor, that wasn't it, I also checked the plug next to the motor going to the Crankshaft sensor and its getting power. So I am lost as to why it's still not working.

Do this. Or find another scanner at your local parts store. Get the exact fault code and we'll be able to better direct you from there.

It does still sound like something is wrong with some sensor that monitors timing. Be that cam or crank it sounds like one of them isnt signaling properly.

Come to think about it. Did you remove the crankshaft sprockets? You didnt happen to somehow get that sensing plate backwards did you? IIRC i think it has a different number of teeth on each side.

My reader comes in today so I'll get the codes when it comes in. I have changed both the Crankshaft and Cam sensor, along with the coil packs, and all belts. No I never took off the sensing plate at all.

stop throwing parts at it until you find the fault...I only mentioned the cam sensor as a possibility. is your lower timing cover off at the moment? are you sure the connector in the lower cover is seated correctly?

Yes I am 110% positive that is it seated correctly. I am done throwing parts at it trust me, but most of what I replaced had never been done ever. So it's peace of mind to have newer parts on it.

So weird because any combination of popping, backfire, and not starting is usually a symptom of bad timing, unless I'm forgetting something.

your engine is out of time...I didn't even notice the picture of the first page, It must not have loaded on my ****ty internet, but your engine is waaaay out of time...you/someone used the crank pulley dowel as the timing mark. your valves are probably bent. You're about to put in a lot more money if you want that engine running. who installed that belt?

it also looks like your timing case is covered in oil or something...

I can't see pics from my work computer. What's he got going on? I was 99% sure it was timing.

Ouch. Couldnt see the pic at work either. Looks like the crank shaft is about 120* out of rotation. Your supposed to time to the dot on the sensing plate. And its timed to that alignment dowel.

Oh, crap, dude. That is no bueno.

Fix that timing ASAP then do a comp check. I'd hope for the best but expect the worst. Good luck, dude.
