actually the formula is about 2.7 hp for every pound off the rotating mass from the crank. if thats so, that equals 27 hp! thats insane!!! but a downside is that youll lose low end torque from a lightened flywheel.

the warranty would have to directly assess that a lightened flywheel caused the damage...which if it is designed properly will never cause any damage at all...so you should be safe!

The techs @ my local Mitsu dealer have told me that as of late, DSM is cracking down on warranty issues related to the drivetrain. I can't even get my stock drivetrain serviced anymore under warranty because I have a cold air and exhaust work done. The tech went on to say that they are investigating any and all drivetrain warranty issues and will rule against it if they see ANY aftermarket installations, under the generalization that if its modded then you must be abusing it and this is cause for not voiding...but refusing to cover the repair or adjustment under warranty. It Blows @$$.
